A-Level Good News

The 2019 A-Level results at Thorp Academy demonstrate another year of positive results with a 100% pass rate. A-Level A* – B grades have risen to 48% and the average grade was above the national average.

Outcomes in Biology, English Language and English Literature were particularly strong with many students gaining top grades at A-Level, along with OCR Health and Social Care and BTEC Sport.

Results in the EPQ qualification were also pleasing with 55% achieving A*-B grades.

There were many individual successes including:

Rory Atkinson AAB – Lancaster to read Earth and Environmental Science, Harry Bleanch AAB – to read Maths, James Crellin AAA – to read Politics Durham, Nathan Fenwick AAA to read Maths, Anna Heath A*AB – English at Bristol, Erin Melody AABC (inc EPQ), Victoria Ross AA*BB (inc EPQ) – to read Pharmacy at Nottingham.

Special congratulations to Laura Westgarth who achieved A*A*A and is off to read Medicine at Oxford and Robyn Briggs who achieved AAA and is going to read Human, Social and Political Science at Cambridge.
