Paris 2019

Late at night on Thursday 23rd May 2019, 44 Thorp Academy students and 5 staff headed off to Paris! Students travelled by coach and arrived on Friday 24th May.

On the Friday, students went to a local park to exercise. Students then enjoyed a fantastic evening meal.

On Saturday 25th May, students ventured firstly to the Trocadero to see the Eiffel Tower which was built for the Worlds Fair and was only ever meant to be a temporary structure. Soon after, students then headed off to the Louvre to see some very famous artwork including the Mona Lisa. A lot of students were shocked to see that the Mona Lisa is not a gigantic picture but actually quite small. Students then headed to the River Seine to take a cruise on the Bateau Mouche. Students very much enjoyed seeing Paris from the river. Before heading back to the hotel students headed to the Arc de Triomphe before heading down the Champs-Elysees. Students ended the day with a lovely meal at a restaurant opposite the Arc de Triomphe.

On Sunday 26th May students experienced the magic of Disney at Disneyland Resort Paris! We started the day at Walt Disney Studios Park and students had four hours free time to explore the park. Students then regrouped with staff before heading over the Magic Kingdom. Students enjoyed eating where they liked with their Disney Meal vouchers and the freedom to choose which rides they went on (the staff went on Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain 3 times in a row!) After this, all of the students and staff regrouped to watch the Disney Stars of Parade.

On Monday 27th May, students and staff departed Paris and boarded the coach back to Thorp Academy.
